Reach for the stars scholarship Program

Dear Sam Rayburn High School Cheerleading Supporter:

Recent events with the stock market and various business failings have created challenges for some parents to provide the necessary funds for their children to participate in our cheerleading program. In an attempt to create an opportunity for students, we wish to develop a scholarship that will set aside the funds for uniforms, tumbling class fees, and travel to competitions for one worthy student each year.

Our Cheerleading Program provides students in difficult situations with a supervised atmosphere, a core group of friends and responsible adults to interact with. They also are furnished opportunities to learn new skills, give something back to the community and even travel for competitions and games.

Students will be required to show proof of need, including participation in the free/reduced lunch program, or enrollment in programs such as food stamps, Medicare or Medicaid. The school principal will make the final choice of scholarship recipient.

Every dollar raised goes directly to support Sam Rayburn High School students’ dreams of reaching for their star.
